Milwaukee Millwork, a leading distributor and manufacturer of custom millwork to southeastern Wisconsin, recently presented its annual “Innovations to a Greener Future” award to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for the creation and design of its Meltwater House, the school’s entry in the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2009 Solar Decathlon competition.

The "25x25" resolution makes the village eligible for up to $100,000 toward the cost of developing a sustainability plan, according to the memo. That resolution declares support for the state's goal of Wisconsin generating 25% of its electricity and transportation fuels from renewable resources by 2025.

Across the country, there is increasing support and demand for the expansion of green energy and the creation of green jobs. Currently, over 600 megawatts of proposed wind projects are stalled in Wisconsin due to the absence of clear, predictable regulations.
